Munster will renew rivalries with Goucester a week later in Thomond Park, a game that will revive memories of the unforgettable ‘Miracle Match’ in 2003. That game has a 6pm kickoff, and is bound to be a popular fixture with fans and publicans in Limerick city.

Munster’s back-to-back fixtures will be against Perpignan on December 8 and 14, the first of them at home with an early Sunday 12.45pm kickoff.

Munster will conclude the pool stages away to Gloucester and then home to Edinburgh in the New Year but fixture details for those games won’t be released until after the first four rounds.

Munster, who face into a new season without the retired Ronan O’Gara, Doug Howlett and Marcus Horan, are priced at 20/1 to win the competition.

Munster’s fixtures for the RaboDirect PRO12 season were also announced last week. In a change from recent years, they will play Leinster at home in October, a week before the Heineken Cup begins.
