Munster name side to face Australia Schools at Thomond Park

EIGHT Limerick-based players have been named in the Munster U-19 side to face Australian Schools in a glamour international fixture at Thomond Park on tomorrow, Tuesday, night at 5pm.

EIGHT Limerick-based players have been named in the Munster U-19 side to face Australian Schools in a glamour international fixture at Thomond Park on tomorrow, Tuesday, night at 5pm.

Garryowen FCs Steven McMahon will captain Keith Murphy’s side from outside centre. McMahon also skipped the Munster U-19s in the September interprovincial series.

Shannon winger Greg O’Shea starts on the right wing, while his Munster academy colleague Gearoid Lyons in the replacements. Munster’s starting line-up also includes Ardscoil Ris full-back Stephen Fitzgerald, and Crescent College’s JJ O’Neill at inside centre. The Munster pack includes Crescent College’s Michael O’Donnell at tighthead prop, with Frank Bradshaw Ryan, of Shannon, partnering Johnathan Keane in the second row. The back row will include St Munchin’s College’s Ben Kilkenny. Bradshaw-Ryan and O’Donnell were in the Ireland U-19 squad which lost 14-8 to Australia Schools at Ravenhill on Saturday. Two Munster players, scrum-half Jack Cullen, of Bruff RFC, and Sean McNulty, of UCD, started that Ravenhill game.

The Australia Schools opened their Ireland tour with a 27-17 defeat to Leinster U19s Schools last week in Donnybrook.

Ticket Prices: Adult €7, Student & OAP €5, Junior (U-16) €3. Only the West Stand at Thomond Park will be open for the game this Tuesday night.
