FORMER Young Munster out-half Shane O’Leary is in line to make his debut for French Top 14 side Grenoble in the Amlin Challenge Cup.

O’Leary, who joined the Grenoble Academy this summer, is named in the club’s squad for this Thursday night’s Amlin Challenge Cup opening round tie with Bayonne. Twenty-year-old O’Leary has been featuring for Grenoble’s U-23 side to date this season, but looks set to make his senior debut in the derby clash.

Munster U-20 player O’Leary cap made his Ulster Bank All-Ireland League debut with the Clifford Park side under Mike Prendergast last season. Prendergast is now the skills coach with Grenoble. O’Leary also played for Canada U-20s at the Junior World Rugby Trophy last summer.

Indeed, he played a key role in helping his side reach the final and finished as top points scorer of the tournament with 45. O’Leary qualifies to play for Canada through his mother.
