Limerick nominations sought for apprentice of the year awards

THE National Apprenticeship Office (NAO) is calling on businesses, employers and training centres across Limerick to nominate a worthy apprentice for the 2023 Generation Apprenticeship Apprentice of the Year Awards.
The NAO is appealing to its community of 9,000 employers, industry leaders, 26,000 apprentices, education providers, social partners and community representatives across Limerick and Ireland to nominate an exceptional apprentice to be Apprentice of the Year.
Last year marked the first Apprentice of the Year Awards held in the Mansion House Dublin, hosted by RTE star Dermot Bannon, with over 500 guests in attendance.
Limerick native and ‘Apprentice of the Year Award’ finalist, Mairide Bennis said: “In secondary school I was the only girl in engineering and metal work all the way up through school and from there, it was a love of practical work that got me to pursue an apprenticeship, and I’m so delighted I chose this path. I was thrilled to be nominated for an ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award last year, and even more delighted to have taken a finalist award back home to Limerick!
“There are so many creative, innovative and hard-working apprentices across Ireland who deserve an award and I would encourage everyone across the Limerick community to nominate a worthy apprentice to showcase the brilliant apprentice talent that we have in Limerick and beyond.”
