Limerick FC awarded Licence by FAI

THE Football Association of Ireland has confirmed that Limerick FC has been granted a First Division Licence for the for up coming season of the Airtricity League.

THE Football Association of Ireland has confirmed that Limerick FC has been granted a First Division Licence for the for up coming season of the Airtricity League.

Last week the club as awarded a “conditional” licence by the Independent Club Licensing Committee after it requested the club to provide security regarding the financial commitments outlined in their budget.

In a statement issued last evening, the FAI said: “The Football Association of Ireland this evening (February 21) confirmed that Limerick FC have been awarded a First Division Licence, having met the requirements sought by the Independent Club Licensing Committee regarding the club’s financial commitments for the coming season.”

Following the decision a spokesman for Limerick FC said the club is looking forward to battling for promotion during the new league season.
