Limerick face Dundalk in Cup

LIMERICK FC have been handed a difficult away tie against fellow Premier Division side Dundalk in the third round draw for the FAI Ford Cup.
Stuart Taylor’s side will travel to Oriel Park for the last 16 tie on the weekend of August 25.
Limerick FC secured their place in the third round of the Cup by recording a convincing 3-0 win over non-League Glenville in Dublin at the start of last month.
The Blues third round opponents Dundalk currently lie in fourth place in the Premier Division table, two places and 13 points ahead of Limwerick.
Limerick secured a gritty 2-2 draw with Dundalk at Oriel Park in the Premier Division in April, while the Shannonsiders came back from 2-0 down at half-time to beat the Co Louth side 3-2 in the top flight at Thomond Park in June.
The draw for the Third Round of the FAI Ford Cup took place on Monday night on the RTE Two programme MNS and was made by FAI President Paddy McCaul and Republic of Ireland U19 team manager Paul Doolin.
Meanwhile, it has also been confirmed that Limerick FCs home Premier Division fixture with Derry City will now go ahead at Thomond Park on Sunday, July 28 at 5pm as a result of the Candystripes involvement in European club competition.
