As the days stretch longer and the city begins to spill outdoors, there is a quiet sense of summer unfolding across towns, villages and countryside alike.

In this latest edition of Limerick Life, we celebrate the season with a collection of people, places and stories that capture the county at its most vibrant.

Our main interview features legendary horse trainer Enda Bolger, who reflects on a life defined by discipline, dedication and a deep love of the sport. From the realities of daily stable life to reflections on mobile phones, eight years without a holiday, and an unexpected friendship with Bruce Springsteen, Bolger offers a candid and often surprising insight into a world where tradition and modernity quietly collide.

We also meet Marion Fitzgibbon, founder of Limerick Animal Welfare, whose journey is one of resilience, purpose and determination. From early personal loss to building an organisation that has grown far beyond what she was once told was possible, her story spans rural Limerick, Spain and New York, shaped by compassion and conviction.

In Newcastle West, Ela Maria Boutique reminds us that fashion is often rooted in family and continuity, with a story that stretches back to 1981 and continues to evolve with each passing season.

Meanwhile, at Greenmount Park in Patrickswell, the annual student race day brings its signature mix of style, atmosphere and summer spirit to life once again.

We also step inside the studio of potter Clair Jones, overlooking the ancient waters of Lough Gur, where her work blends heritage, landscape and contemporary craft in a uniquely evocative way.

And of course, no summer edition would be complete without seasonal inspiration - from delicious recipes and festival-ready fashion to a guide to the biggest events on the calendar ahead.

So here’s to a summer well spent in Limerick, full of stories, flavour, style and moments to remember.
