TWO Limerick ladies football clubs will get their Munster championship campaign underway this weekend as they move on to the next round of their 2024 football championship.

Ballylanders, who are competing in the senior B Munster championship, will take on Southern Gaels from Kerry in Waterville on Sunday at 1pm in the refixtured quarter-final. The opposing quarter between Cahir and Ballymacarbry will also take play this Sunday. The winner of each quarter-final will meet each other in the semi the following Sunday.

Landers fell short to St Ailbes in the Limerick senior championship final a few weeks back with St Ailbes moving down a grade in the Munster championship to compete in the intermediate ranks. They got their Munster campaign off to a flying start last weekend with a huge 5-16 to 0-4 victory over Na Deise. Ailbes will now move on to the semi-final against Tipperary team Cappawhite on Saturday, November 2.

After winning the Limerick intermediate final against Knockainey, Mungret St Paul's will also move onto the Munster Championship, dropping down a grade to junior.

Mungret were gifted a bye in the quarter-final stages propelling them into a Munster semi-final where they will face Abbeydorney. Due to a clashing of fixtures between Munster camogie and ladies football that effected the Kerry team, the game will take place in Abbeydorney at 3:30pm this Saturday afternoon. Abbeydorney got the better of Moyne Templetouhy in the quarter-final, 5-13 to 5-8.

The opposing Munster semi will take place between Waterford side Shamrocks and Midelton.
