THE quarter-finals of the Senior and Intermediate ladies football championship all take place this Sunday, September 8 at 4:30pm with group games still taking place in the Junior A and B competition.
In the 3Dental Senior Ladies Football Championship St Ailbe's were the only unbeaten team after winning all three of their group games. This sets them up very well for the quarter-finals as they face bottom of group two Dromcollogher/Broadford who have lost all of their games.
Ballylanders secured second spot in the group one table and will face Feoghanagh/Castlemahon this Sunday. In group two of the senior championship Oola got the better of Monagea in the final round of games which meant they got top spot and will now face bottom of group one Old Mill, who have also lost all their group games.
Due to their loss Monagea came second in the group two and will face third in group one, Galtee Gaels in the second quarter-final. The teams that lose these quarter-finals will go into the Senior B competition.
In the 3Dental Intermediate Football Championship Knockainey have continued their winning form with a 3-11 to 2-11 win over Fr Casey's in group one, leaving them top of the table and going straight through to the semi-final's on Sunday, September 22.
Fr Casey's have finished up in second place in the table and will face third in group two, St Brigid's, who have struggled to gain a win so far in the championship.
No winner could be crowned from Athea against Murroe/Boher with the teams finishing their group campaign with a draw. Murroe/Boher will end up in third place due to points difference with the side playing Adare in the quarter-finals.
In group two of the intermediate championship Mungret St Paul's have emerged top of the group after winning their two group games and will now face Athea in the next round.
The group stages of the Junior A championship will continue until this weekend with round four also taking place on Sunday at 11am. Monaleen are still on top of the table with three wins so far and will face St Ailbes who are on the bottom of the table. Second in the table Pallasgreen will take on third place St Senan's as Croom welcome Ahane.
Much like the Junior A competition the Junior B championship is also still in the group stages with the final round taking place this Saturday at 6pm.
In group one table toppers Galtee Gaels will play Knockainey away, Ballybrown will host Oola in group two, Dromcollogher/Broadford will take on Gerald Griffins in the third group and Cappagh will play off against Granagh/Ballingarry.
Ballylanders, Mungret St Paul's, Monagea, and Old Mill have all received byes in the final round of games and will await the results of this weekends games to see the quarter-final match-ups.
