THE Limerick ladies football championship group game stages have come to a close with the remaining fixtures taking place over the weekend and the quarter-final match-ups becoming clearer.
All senior and intermediate quarter-finals will take place on Sunday, September 8 at 4:30pm.
St Ailbe's remain the only unbeaten team in the 3Dental Limerick Ladies Senior Football Championship after winning all three of their games, most recently a 3-10 to 2-8 victory over Galtee Gaels. This sets them up very well for the quarter-finals as they face bottom of group two Dromcollogher/Broadford who have lost all of their games.
In group one, Ballylanders got the better of Old Mill by only one-point, 1-10 to 1-9, with Ballylanders securing second spot in the table. Old Mill have had a challenging championship so far losing all three of their games and now face Oola in the quarter-finals.
Elsewhere in group two of the senior competition, Monagea lost their first game of the championship campaign to Oola who got the better of the 2023 champions, 0-10 to 0-7, this mean Oola won group one on points difference. The reigning champions had already beaten Dromcollogher/Broadford and Feoghanagh/Castlemahon in group two. Due to this loss Monagea came second in the group two and will face third in group one, Galtee Gaels in the second quarter-final.
Feoghanagh/Castlemahon got the better of Dromcollogher/Broadford, 0-12 to 0-8, with Feoghanagh/Castlemahon going through to the next round facing a huge task in beating Ballylanders in the quarters. The final team in group B, Dromcollogher/Broadford, will play top of group one St Ailbes.
In the 3Dental Intermediate Football Championship Knockainey have continued their winning form with a 3-11 to 2-11 win over Fr Casey's in group one, leaving them top of the table and going straight through to the semi-final's on Sunday, September 22.
Fr Casey's have finished up in second place in the table and will face third in group two, St Brigid's, who have struggled to gain a win so far in the championship. No winner could be crowned from Athea against Murroe/Boher with the teams finishing their group campaign with a draw. Murroe/Boher will end up in third place due to points difference with the side playing Adare in the quarter-finals.
In group two of the intermediate championship Mungret St Paul's have emerged top of the group after winning their two group games and will now face Athea in the next round.
The group stages of the Junior A championship will continue until the weekend of Sunday, September 22 as there is only one group in this competition. In round three of the Junior A championship Monaleen made it three wins from three after another confident display against Pallasgreen winning on a scoreline of 3-15 to 3-4. Top of the table Monaleen will play bottom St Ailbes on Sunday, September 8, while Pallasgreen take on St Senan's in the next round.
St Senan's got the better of Ahane, 3-13 to 3-5 with Ahane coming up against Croom next time out. St Ailbe's have struggled in the junior A championship so face with another loss over the weekend this time to Croom, 4-13 to 1-6.
