STUDENTS of St Nessan’s National School have been crowned the winners of a ‘unique’ singing competition.
With their ‘well compiled’ video, students from the winning Limerick school won the Learn Our Anthem Competition, an initiative which seeks to encourage children all over Ireland to learn the Irish National Anthem for life.
The unique singing competition aims to make the meaning of ‘Amhrán na bhFiann’ more applicable for today’s society, and turn it away from any negative association.
Author of ‘Our National Anthem’ book, Rachel J Cooper, commented: “The winning school, St. Nessan’s video was so well compiled and really showcased that every child could sing ‘Amhrán na bhFiann’. They were so well taught and engaged. They truly deserved to win!”
