A MONUMENTAL milestone has been reached by a past group of Crescent College graduates.
The class of 1966 celebrated their 57th anniversary at the Savoy Hotel, and after a few postponements due to Covid, they were delighted to finally be reunited.
At a time before the land in Dooradoyle was purchased for what is now known as Crescent College Comprehensive SJ, class of 1966 member Justin Herbert reminisced about his former school.
"We were located at the Jesuit school near the Daniel O'Connell monument," he began. "At the time we would have had Jesuit priests teaching us, there are very few left now."
Towards the end of January, upstairs in The Locke Suite upstairs at the luxury hotel, the group of roughly 20 enjoyed a prosecco reception, a four-course meal and a night full of laughter, chatter and nostalgia.
Justin laughed about the memories they shared: "We were thinking back on the rugby we played, the operas and plays we held and God knows what else we were getting up to!"
From Limerick, Cork, Dublin and Galway to name a few, the group arrived from near and far to attend as many had not seen each other since they left school.
According to Justin it was "a very enjoyable time and good fun".
