The Champions Under Lights event was established in honour of the late Dillon Quirke who collapsed and died of sudden adult death syndrome (SADS) on August 5, 2022 in Semple Stadium Thurles.

The aim of the Champions Under Lights event at Fethard Town Park is to raise much needed funds to raise awareness of SADS and fund widespread cardiac screening for young people (aged 13-17) involved in sport.

The action will also see All-Ireland champions Kerry face Tipperary in a senior football game at the Fethard venue earlier at 4pm.

After Christmas, Limerick will be in Co-Op Superstores Munster Senior Hurling League action.

The Shannonsiders take on Clare in Tulla on Saturday, January 3 at 2pm in the Munster senior hurling league. Four days later, the Shannonsiders will host Cork in a Limerick venue on Wednesday January 7 at 7:35pm.
