Monaleen face Mungret St Paul's in Premier U20 Hurling semi-final I PICTURE: Sportsfile

MONALEEN and Mungret St Paul's battle it out for a place in the Limerick Premier U20 Hurling Championship final this evening. The Limerick U20 Premier Hurling Championship semi-final gets underway at 8pm in the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
Fintan Fitzgerald who was part of the Limerick senior hurling pre-season squad in 2025 along with Limerick U20 hurlers Sean Duff and Mark O'Brien are key players for Mungret St Paul's. The Raheen side won the Limerick U21 Hurling Championship in 2023 when they defeated Monaleen. Mungret St Paul's remain unbeaten having recorded victories over Na Piarsaigh, Kildimo-Pallaskenry and Bruff during the group stages.

Monaleen winners of the competition in 2024 will look to big performances from Matthew Fitzgerald, Dara Ferland, Mark Field and Limerick senior hurling panelist Darragh Langan. Last year, the Castletroy side got the better of Bruff in the Limerick Premier U20 hurling final. Monaleen defeated Ahane and Doon and suffered a defeat to Murroe-Boher during the group stages.
The winners of this evening's clash will face Na Piarsaigh in the Limerick U20 hurling final on Sunday afternoon. Na Piarsaigh recorded a 3-12 to 2-8 victory over Doon on Monday evening in the other semi-final.
