Munster senior hurling championship fixture schedule for 2026 revealed

2025 finalists Limerick are set to begin their round robin fixture programme in next year's Munster senior hurling championship away to Cork, it is being reported.

Limerick are set to have a bye in the opening round of fixtures, according to the provisional fixture list, with All-Ireland champions Tipperary hosting Munster champions Cork in Thurles, while Clare are set to enertain Waterford in Ennis in the first weekend of action in the 2026 provincial championship.

The provisional fixture list sees Limerick begin their campaign in round two away to Cork. The sides met twice in the provincial championship this year with Limerick beating Cork comprehensively at the round robin stage at the TÚS Gaelic Grounds, before the Leesiders emerged victorious in the Munster final back at the Ennis Road venue following a penalty shoot-out.

Also in round 2 of the provincial championship next year, Waterford will entertain Tipperary.

The round three action, which will be split over two weekends, will see Limerick travel to Ennis to take on Clare, while Waterford will take on Cork at Walsh Park.

Then, in round four, Limerick will have home advantage against Waterford at the TÚS Gaelic Grounds, with Tipperary facing Clare at FBD Semple Stadium.

The round five action will have Cork hosting Clare at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh with Limerick having home advantage against Tipperary.

2026 MUNSTER SHC FIXTURES (provisional)

Round 1: Tipperary v Cork, Clare v Waterford.

Round 2: Cork v Limerick, Waterford v Tipperary.

Round 3 (split over two weekends): Clare v Limerick, Waterford v Cork.

Round 4: Limerick v Waterford, Tipperary v Clare.

Round 5: Cork v Clare, Limerick v Tipperary.
