LAST year was a memorable year for Adam Hogan where he won a Fitzgibbon Cup with Mary Immaculare College as well as Allianz Hurling League title and All-Ireland senior hurling championship titles with Clare.
Hogan was a key player for the Banner in 2024 , resulting in him being award the prestigious Young Hurler of the Year accolade.
The tenacious corner back said it can feel strange at the beginning lining out with some of the Limerick hurlers on the Mary Immaculate College team.
“At the start, it's tough. It's different, in fairness even to get to the know the lads in Mary I is actually a good thing,” Hogan said.
“They're such sound lads and it probably showed in the Fitzgibbon last year how close we are.
“That's probably one of the main reasons we won it because we are such a close team. All the county lads were gelled together.”
Mary I have been drawn alongside UL, ATU Galway and SETU Waterford in Group One of the Fitzgibbon .
“Ourselves, UL and Waterford were three of the semi-finalists last year. ATU are always a tough task. We will be doing well to get out of the group.
“Hopefully, we'll get through them but we won't be taking anything for granted”.
New faces have brought a freshness to Jamie Wall's Mary Immaculate College squad, according to Hogan.
“There's new faces in. Lads who didn't win it last year. They're going to bring a freshness that is probably needed.”
