THE final countdown to Christmas will occupy the minds of most but there are three Limerick GAA U20 Championship finals this weekend.

On Friday evening, December 20 at the unusual time of 9pm, St Kierans take on Galtee Gaels at Mick Neville Park in the U20 B Football Championship decider. Both sides remain unbeaten in this year's championship.

On Saturday at 1pm in Askeaton, Cappagh Rathkeale face Shannon Gaels-Athea in the U20 A Football Championship final.
Cappagh Rathkeale are joined up together at underage level. Both clubs had a successful 2024.

Cappagh won the junior football championship this year, while Rathkeale won the intermediate championship.The Athea players will look to put the disappointment behind them of losing the junior final earlier this year.

Also on Saturday, ABK Desmonds meet Croom Granagh Ballingarry in the U20 B Hurling Championship final in Sean Finn Park, Rathkeale at 2pm. Oisin O'Farrell who has been recently drafted into the Limerick senior hurling panel by John Kiely. O'Farrell will be in action for AKB Desmonds.

Already this year, Monaleen were crowned premier U20 hurling champions, while Mungret St Paul's won the Premier U20 football title. Murroe Boher won the U20 A Hurling Championship.
