NINE Limerick players were involved in last night's Fresher League hurling final. UL defeated UCC 2-24 to 2-14 at the Mallow GAA complex.

Fintan Fitzgerald and Bruff clubmen Sean Casey and Tadgh Boddy all started for the University of Limerick in their victory. Wing forward Tadgh Boddy scored 0-2 from wing forward, while centre half forward Fintan Fitzgerald chipped in with a 0-1. Sean Casey lined out at full back.

It was a quick turnaround for Tadgh Boddy and Sean Casey who lined out for Bruff in the Premier U20 hurling final last Sunday. Mungret St Paul's Sean Duff was introduced in the second half for the victors.

Bruree's Fionn O'Brien lined out in goals for UCC last night. Dara Ferland was part of the Monaleen U20 squad who won the premier U20 hurling title last weekend. Ferland was in impressive form for University College Cork scoring 0-3. Daniel Scully of Dromin Athlacca lined out at wing forward for the Cork college.

Na Piarsaigh's John O'Keefe was part of extended UL panel. Tadgh Hourigan of Pallasgreen was part of the extended UCC panel.
