LIMERICK jockeys Chris Hayes rode Esherann to win the concluding one-mile maiden at Naas on Wednesday. Trained by Dermot Weld, the 100/30 chance beat Paddy Twomey’s 1/4 favourite Standard Deviation and Billy Lee by half a length.
Lee had better luck at the Curragh on Friday where he won the ten-furlong maiden on the Andy Oliver-trained Our Friend Mouse. Sent off at odds of 9/2, the Roving Swan Partnership-owned gelding stayed on well to score by a neck.
Chris Hayes landed his second winner of the week when partnering Sujet to win the opening one-mile-one-furlong handicap at the Curragh on Sunday. Trained by Dermot Weld, the Juddmonte-owned gelding stayed on strongly to win by one-and-a-quarter lengths at odds of 10/1.

Billy Lee was also back in the winners’ enclosure after riding Keke to win the five-furlong handicap. Trained by Eddie Lynam, the 11/4 favourite won by a length for owners Wood Hall Stud Limited.
Lambourn became the 20th horse to complete the Epsom/Dubail Duty Free Irish Derby double with a battling success in the weekend highlight. The sixth colt O’Brien has trained to win both races, he ultimately held his own stable companion Serious Contender and Gavin Ryan to score by three-parts of a length at odds of 8/13 favourite, a 17th win in the race for the Ballydoyle maestro.
