Dermot Kennedy announces second date in Limerick City

IRISH singer Dermot Kennedy has added a date to his Limerick’s visit next July.

The Dublin singer has announced he will be performing a second night in the Treaty City after his gig in Thomond Park Limerick on July 7 sold out “insanely quickly.”

One of Ireland’s best-selling artists, Dermot headlined Electric Picnic to over 70,000 people in September – his biggest festival headline so far. His debut album, Without Fear, was the biggest selling album of the millennium by an Irish artist.

“The first night in Thomond Park on July 7 sold out insanely quickly, quicker than expected. And so, we have a second night on sale now – on July 8. Judging by the first one, you should get your tickets quick for this one too! Thank you so much, it’s crazy,” he commented on a video shared on social media.

In Treaty City, Dermot will mark the beginning of Sonder Tour, named after his latest album featuring popular releases such as ‘Kiss Me’,  ‘Something to Someone’ and ‘Better Days.’ Released on November 18, his new album has been described as heartfelt and comforting.

Special guests for his tour has yet to be announced.

This summer will be a busy one for Limerick, as Dermot’s extra gig is one of a number of summer performances to be announced this week, following Hermitage Green and Kraftwerk who will be playing at King John's Castle in the city.

Tickets from €53.65 including booking fee are now on sale via Ticketmaster.ie
