Deaths in Limerick - June 14, 2019

The death has occurred of Gerald Tierney of 22 Woodgrove, Moyvane, Kerry / Ballingarry, Limerick. Formerly of Knockfierna, Ballingarry, Co. Limerick. Gerald died peacefully on June 13th, 2019 at University Hospital Kerry. Predeceased by his partner Maureen, his sisters Rose and Monica and his brothers Benedict and Sean. He is survived by his sisters Anne Moran, Kilatal, Ballingarry and Philomena Griffiths U.K., brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing in Lyons Funeral Home, Derry, Listowel on Sunday, June 16th, from 6.30pm until 7.30pm arriving at St. Joseph's Church, Granagh, Co. Limerick at 9pm approx. Requiem Mass on Monday, June 17th, at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery.


The death has occurred of Fergus McDonnell of Aspen Gardens, St. Patrick's Road, Limerick City, Limerick. Late of Limerick Institute of Technology (L.I.T.). Survived by wife Rita, daughters Michelle, Elaine, Lyndsey, Aishling & Sinead, son Mark, father Seamus, grandchildren, sisters Marian, Lorraine, Rita & Teresa, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.

Reposing at Cross' Funeral Home this Sunday evening from 4.00pm wioth Removal at 5.30pm to St. John's Cathedral. Requiem Mass Monday at 11.00am, with burial afterwards in Mt. St. Lawrence (ext) Cemetery. House private please. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, in lieu of flowers to Milford Care Centre.



The death has occurred of Ita Kelly SRN (née Leahy) of Ard Na Tinile, Churchtown Road, Newcastle West, Limerick. Suddenly while on holiday in Portugal. Deeply regretted by her heartbroken husband Seamus. Adored mother of Seamus, Mark and Emmett. Predeceased by her parents Ned and Peg Leahy and her brother Emmett. She will be sadly missed by her sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnieces, grandnephews, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Riedy’s Funeral Home, Newcastle West on Saturday (15th June) from 6pm to 8pm. Arriving at The Church of The Immaculate Conception, Newcastle West at 8.30pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday at 12 noon, followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Churchtown Grotto. House strictly private at the family’s request please.
