Bag stolen while woman was trying on clothes in Limerick city

Sgt Ber Leetch, Henry Street garda station

INFORMATION is being sought after a lady had her handbag stolen, in recent days, while she was in trying on clothes at a store in Limerick city.

“Unfortunately she left her bag outside of the changing cubicle and a thief saw the opportunity and took it,” said divisional crime prevention officer Sergeant Ber Leetch.

“I have seen ladies come out of their changing rooms to get another size or item but leave their bags in the cubicle and in full view of anybody who might be tempted to take it. We should never leave our valuable property unattended. Thieves are opportunists and will have your wallet, phone or bag taken in a second,” she added appealing to people to protect their property.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact gardai at Henry Street at (061) 212400.
