WATCH: Limerick fire crews tackle derelict house fire with impressive 'sky-lift' machinery

Limerick Fire Service tackling the derelict house fire this week PICTURE: LIMERICK FIRE AND RESCUE

LIMERICK Fire and Rescue have released footage of its impressive Bronto skylift tackling a derelict house fire this week.

Crews this week captured a birds-eye view of the skylift in action as they tackled the fire at a property on St Munchins Street.

Capable of giving 2,000 litres of water per minute, the skylift can be controlled from the crews’s cage or from the rear of the machine.

With the flow pattern of the water changing from a straight jet to a spray, underneath the Bronto’s cage are a series of jets that can be used to create a water curtain to protect firefighters.
