Driver caught speeding in West Limerick town

The driver was going 156kph in a 100kph zone

A MOTORIST is to face court proceedings after being detected driving at over 50km above the speed limit, outside Abbeyfeale over the weekend. 

According to gardai, the driver was travelling at 156kmph in 100kph zone, 56km above the speed limit. 

Gardai say the motorist reached speeds in excess of 160kph. 

It is also alleged the driver's registration plate was illegible due to dirt.
