Handbag stolen from boot of woman’s car in Limerick as she reversed out of space

A HANDBAG was stolen from the boot of a car as the owner was about the reverse out of parking space in Limerick.

The lady had completed her shopping at a supermarket and had put the bag into the boot with the shopping.

“She sat into her car and was about to reverse out of her parking spot when she saw that her boot was open,” said a garda spokesperson.

“She got out to close it and then discovered that her handbag was missing.

“It would appear that in the time it took her to walk from the boot of her car to sitting into her car a thief had opened the boot and lifted out her handbag.

The thief had probably watched her so it’s very important to keep your handbag with you at all times, or better again don’t carry a bag at all just bring your cash or bank cards with you. If you must bring a bag buy yourself a cross body bag and this will remain on you at all times,” added the garda spokesperson.
