Gardai Limerick are investigating the bizarre theft of a golf club from a car in Castletroy

GARDAI in Limerick are investigating the bizarre theft of a golf club from a car in Castletroy.

Gardai said a thief targeted a black BMW 320 parked at Cois Ghruada, Castletroy in the early hours of last Wednesday morning between 1.30am and 8am.

“The thief broke into the BMW and stole a Dunlop 7 iron golf club from it. If you were around the Cois Ghruada area of Castletroy in the early hours of last Wednesday morning and saw anyone with a golf club, please contact the Gardai at Henry Street Garda Station.”

Gardai are investigating after a number of other cars were damaged during early morning incidents.

Gardai said four cars were targeted by thieves in the Curragh Birin area of Castletroy also in the early hours of last Wednesday morning.

“Between 12.30am and 8am they caused damage to and broke into a number of these cars,” said a spokesperson.

“The cars were a black Nissan X Trail, a black Volkswagen Polo, a black BMW 320 and a blue Volkswagen Passat.

“One of the items taken from the black Nissan X Trail was an Irish rugby jacket. Gardai at Henry Street are looking to further their investigation in this matter. If you have any information on this please make contact,” added the spokesperson.
