A HANDBAG was stolen from a car which was broken into while parked in Limerick city centre week.

The black Volkswagen golf was parked at Henry Street when it was targeted by a thief between 12.20pm and 1.10pm last Thursday afternoon, January 31.

”The thief smashed the front passenger window and stole a black ladies handbag which had been left on the floor of the car. This handbag contained many personal items belonging to the owner causing her to be greatly distressed,” said Garda John Finnerty.

Gardai at Henry Street are investigating the incident and can be contacted at (061) 212400.

Information is also being sought following the theft of power tools from a flat complex in the city centre last week.

The tools were taken from the balcony area at Tara Court, Watergate between 1pm and 1.30pm last Wednesday week.

“In this instance, it was the afternoon. There would have been many people either outside the apartments or in and around the apartments themselves,” said Garda Finnerty.
