Limerick's footballers drew with London last year
LIMERICK’s exiles are to give the county football panel a warm welcome as they hit the British capital this weekend.
The Treatymen open their Allianz football league division four campaign away to London in Ruislip this Sunday, throw in 2pm. But the night before, the Limerick Association – which exists to support Shannonsiders in Britain – are to hold a special reception at the Clayton Crown Hotel in Cricklewood, where the team are staying.
There will be music from Celtic Crunch and a raffle on the night. All are welcome to the event this Saturday, January 26, with association president John Giltenan saying: “We look forward to welcoming our friends and association members along with guests from Ireland.”
Tickets for the night, which gets under way at 7.30pm will cost £5.
For more information, telephone John at 0044-7956855957 from Ireland, or 07956855957 if you’re in Britain.
The Clayton Crown was formerly operated by Athea's Tom Moran, famous for running the Red Cow, and Limerick GAA’s former shirt sponsor.
It's the second year in a row Limerick's Footballers have travelled to London. Last February, they drew an entertaining match.
