MOTORISTS are being advised to expect delays after a large obstruction closed the northbound bore of the Limerick Tunnel.
There is believed to be backlog of two rows of traffic at the scene.
Henry Street gardai have been contacted and are expected to arrive shortly.
Tunnel is completely backed up coming from Dock Road. Sitting here trying to get off slip way for 15mins. Cars have reversed and some have even turned around on the one way to head south bound! @Live95fmNews @Limerick_Leader @aaroadwatch pic.twitter.com/eRrDretsbS— Aoife McLoughlin (@Squifferito) January 19, 2019
Traffic is expected to be heavier later today as Munster take on Exeter Chiefs in a European tie at Thomond Park.
Further delays are likely this Saturday afternoon after AA Roadwatch reported a fuel spill on the M18 northbound between junction 12, Ennis and junction 14 at Barefield.
