Prestigious customer care prize for Limerick’s Virgin Media

VIRGIN Media, one of Limerick’s biggest employers, has won a prestigious customer care award.

The television and broadband provider, which operates a huge call-centre at the LEDP in Roxboro, was honoured  for having the 'Best Customer Experience’ at the CCMA awards. for the second straight year.

The awards celebrate the high standards and service excellence achieved within the Irish contact centre and shared services sector.

The Virgin Media team – which numbers 400 in Limerick – beat off competition from Laya Healthcare, Paddy Power Betfair, Sky Ireland, New Ireland Assurance and Lilly Global Business Solutions.

The firm was praised for “demonstrating continued outstanding progress in the delivery of customer experience”.

Glen Winn, head of revenue assurance, fraud and risk at Virgin Media was also awarded ‘industry professional of the year – manager award’ which highlights his and his team’s successful efforts to reach revenue targets while significantly reducing risks.

“Winning this award two years running proves how customer experience is now truly part of the DNA of our whole business. Our team’s commitment to making it easy for our customers is authentic and genuine, and this was called out by the judges. Well done to our team in Limerick and thank you to our colleagues from across the business for the support,” Virgin Media vice-president of customer Michael McCarthy said.

Meanwhile, there was success for another Limerick businesswoman as Catherine Duffy won the top title of ‘Woman of the Year’.

Ms Duffy, the manager of Northern Trust in Limerick, won the title at the Women in Finance awards last week.

A former Limerick Chamber president, she picked up her award at Clontarf Castle in Dublin.
