Limerick gardai issue advice for farmers after theft of ‘10 foot steel gate’

GARDAI in Limerick are investigating after a 10 foot steel gate was taken from lands in the county.

Gardai issued advice for farmers or any landowners after the theft to ensure “boundary fences are sound and safe”.

“A 10 foot steel gate was taken from an entrance to land in Pallasgreen. I can only imagine that this must be very heavy and some sort of lifting equipment required?” said Sergeant Ber Leetch, Divisional Crime Prevention Officer at Henry Street.

“The danger here is that animals could stray onto the road and cause an accident especially in these dark evenings. Land owners need to inspect their property regularly and ensure that their gates and boundary fences are sound and safe.”
