LIMERICK gardai are investigating a robbery of a man in his mid-60s who was left with a broken nose after being assaulted.

Gardai said the man was walking along Clare Street just after 7am on Wednesday, November 7 when “two other young males started shouting at him”.

“They then demanded his money, assaulted him and took his wallet. The gentleman was taken to hospital and it was discovered that they had broken his nose,” said a garda spokesperson, who added that the man was “very shocked”.

“Clare Street is very busy around 7am in the morning with drivers and pedestrians so if anybody saw this assault or know anything about it could they please contact Henry Street Garda station on 061 212400,” they added.
