Gardai in Limerick are advising people to protect their property when at work
GARDAI in Limerick are advising people to protect their property when at work.
It follows a number of recent incidents in the city where property was stolen from employees while they were are work.
”One lady had her handbag taken from her office, another lady had her phone taken from her desk and another lady who works in a hospital had her purse taken,” said divisional crime prevention officer Sergeant Ber Leetch.
“In all of these cases the thief just walked in and picked up the unprotected property. Employers should provide lockers for their staff so that their personal property is kept safe. If a locker is provided use it and keep it locked otherwise keep anything of value on your person,” she added.
Employers are also being encouraged to provide secure facilities for workers and employees.
