Gardai investigating theft of electrical cable taken by thieves seeking copper

INFORMATION is being sought by gardai following the theft of a quantity of electrical cable from a building site on the outskirts of Limerick city.

Gardai are also investigating the theft of a three generators from a construction site near Caherconlish.

The generators, which belong to a drilling company, are red in colour and a Mosa make.

“If any of this property is offered for sale, please contact your nearest garda station,” said a spokesperson.

Meanwhile, homeowners in Limerick are being urged to secure their patio doors following a number of recent burglaries.

“Anybody who has a sliding patio door should check to see if it has a second locking device. If it doesn’t a lock can be bought which is locked down into where the door slides on and it makes it impossible to lift out the patio door,” said crime prevention officer, Sergeant Ber Leetch.
