Limerick gardai investigate spate of break-ins to parked cars at train station

Gardai at Roxboro Road are investigating

GARDAI are warning motorists not to leave valuables on display in their cars when parking their overnight or for long periods of time.

There have been a number of break-ins to parked cars in the city over the past week – including 12 cars at Colbert Station.

According to gardai, each of the vehicles were broken into between 4am and 5am on Friday last – April 20.

“Thankfully there was little or no property taken. However, we remind people not to leave any property visible in the car if parking for a long period of time for travel,” said a garda spokesperson.

The break-ins were the latest to have happened at Colbert Station. Last month, around 20 parked cars were targeted during Storm Emma.

A juvenile has been arrested and questioned as part of that investigation.

Garda at Roxboro are reviewing CCTV footage following the latest incidents and are appealing for any information.

They can be contacted at (061) 214340.
