BRUFF RFC hosts its inaugural end-of-year girls rugby tournament on Saturday, April 28, at Kilballyowen Park.

On the day teams will compete across all the ages in girls rugby from U-10s to U-15s.

Teams will travel from Shannon, Old Christians, UL Bohemians, St Mary’s, Nenagh, Fethard and Virginia in Co Cavan, who are bringing the full selection of ages to Limerick

Teams will gather at noon and participate in a joint non-contact skills-based warm-up session at 12.30pm with current Irish international Niamh Briggs, and ex-Ireland international and RTÉ pundit Fiona Steed before splitting into their age groups.

Matches start at 1pm with a full afternoon’s entertainment on hand, including bouncy castles and fun and games.

Fiona says if any young, or not so young girls, are interested in taking up the game they are very welcome to come along to see what it’s all about.

Bruff hope to run a “give-it-a-try” session over the summer months to get some new players involved as well.
