Organisers of Dromin Athlacca’s health and wellness evening: Katie Lynch, Gerard Kelleher, Peter Ryan, Colum Breen, chairman
DROMIN Athlacca GAA club is an integral part of the community and they recognise there is a responsibility to provide a service to the locality – and not just on match day.
This year they took part in Operation Transformation Light up Ireland with huge crowds.
While chatting on these walks, Triona Neenan, of the GAA club, said there was a huge interest in health and there was keen interest by everyone in the club to meet this need. Hence a health and wellness evening was conceived.
It takes place in Athlacca hall on Wednesday, April 11 at 7pm.
“The core concept is to recognise that small changes can lead to big differences and this is something I believe will be of benefit to us all,” said Triona, who adds they are tremendously fortunate to have such a high calibre of speakers.
They are Greg Korpanty, consultant medical oncologist; Adrian O’Brien, performance coach and Geraldine Lyons, mindfulness coach.
The event has received tremendous support from locals and business. Wallace’s Family Pharmacy, Bruff, will offer free blood pressure testing and diabetic checks. Kay Murphy from Bruff Pharmacy has kindly donated a hamper.
