Eileen Breen got this fixed penalty notice from gardai during the Limerick hurling match

A LIMERICK woman has said she would happily risk future parking fines in order to "watch that second half again" after seeing the hurlers beat Galway on Sunday.

Eileen Breen tweeted after Limerick's sensational victory in Salthill, during which she received a fixed penalty notice for parking in the wrong location: "Dear Galway Gardai. I’d pay 3 parking fines just to watch that 2nd half again. Happy Mother’s Day to ye all."

There are reports that a number of Limerick fans attending the match, in which Limerick secured Allianz Hurling League promotion after a 2-18 to 1-19 win, received parking fines.

Follow-up tweets said: "Same here they made some money out of us limerick fans today."

Another tweeter said: "Come on lads ...that tweet deserves a special dispensation.....the day that's in it an all."

RTE sports broadcaster Des Cahill tweeted: "Tweet of the day!! Good on ya, Eileen! @limerickinexile."
