KIDS in Limerick are staying true to their local sports stars, as Conor Murray and CJ Stander remain their favourite Irish rugby players.
That is according to a new survey carried out by Glenisk yoghurt producers, who asked 1,500 children nationwide who their top man on the pitch was.
The results showed that kids chose Murray ahead of Johnny Sexton as their favourite back for Ireland, and CJ as the top forward on the international pitch.
It wasn’t just about the best players; Limerick kids got to choose who they would prefer to manage Ireland’s clash in the Six Nations. And the former Ireland, Munster and Lions captain Paul O’Connell was selected to do the job — ahead of Championship -winning coach Joe Schmidt.
Meanwhile, the survey also found that UFC’s Conor McGregor and soccer star Robbie Keane were the top two celebs with whom they would watch a rugby game. X-Factor judge Louis Walsh got just a 1% share of that vote.
