MET Eireann has issued a severe weather warning for Limerick with "significant wind chill and severe frosts" expected and the possibility of snow showers.
The forecaster has this Friday issued the national severe weather warning, with "exceptionally cold weather" predicted in particular for next week.
"Exceptionally cold weather is forecast for next week with significant wind chill and severe frosts. Disruptive snow showers are expected from Tuesday onwards, particularly in the east and southeast," it said.
The advisory is in effect from 12pm today until the same time next Friday, March 2.
