Trial date set at Central Criminal Court for man charged with Kilkee murder

A 22-year-old Clare man will go on trial next October, charged with murdering a father-of-one in Kilkee in August.

Robbie Walsh of Island View, Kilrush is charged with the murder of 25-year-old Karl Haugh at the Marian Estate in Kilkee on August 6 last.

Mr Haugh who was 25 and from Marian Estate, was pronounced dead at University Hospital Limerick after being stabbed a number of times in a pedestrian laneway at his home estate at the coastal town, shortly after 1am.

Following the brief procedural hearing at the Criminal Courts of Justice on Monday, Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy set October 22, 2018 as the date for his trial by a Central Criminal Court jury.
