Smiggle-mania: The stationery retailer is to open at the Crescent

COLOURFUL stationery retailer Smiggle is to open its first store in Limerick, creating a number of jobs in the process.

The Australian retailer, which arrived on Irish shores earlier this year, will open its fifth new store of the year at the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick, creating eight jobs.

The new Smiggle store will open in the Crescent on Monday and managing director John Cheston said “it will be great to see the public’s reaction in Limerick on December 18.

“With over 120 stores now open in the UK and Ireland, Smiggle has proved to be a real success with consumers. We are thrilled to be introducing our products to local areas and giving fans greater opportunity to purchase our unique products.

"There really is nothing like Smiggle anywhere else on the high street,” he said of the retailer, which creates original, fun and affordable stationery.

“It’s important for us to inject fun into everything we do – from product design to store design, we will always focus on delivering to our fans the most original and playful stationery possible. We know how important it is to have the right tools for festive fun,” added Mr Cheston.
