Limerick gardai investigate serious assault in which man was 'lured' to wooded area

A major operation is underway after two men were knocked down by a car in Parteen this Thursday

GARDAI in Limerick are investigating a serious assault on a man who was "lured" to a wooded area by a group of men.

Gardai at Roxboro Road are investigating the serious assault on a 26-year-old male that happened on Monday at around 6.30pm.

It is believed that injured male was lured to the spot and then seriously assaulted.

"It happened at Castlequarter in a wooded area on the left as you drive up to the village of Fedamore," said a garda spokesperson.

"There were a number of males involved in the assault and gardai are asking any motorists in the area to come forward if they noticed any parked vehicles in that specific area around that time or have any information which may assist them with their investigation."

Contact Roxboro garda station on 061-214340 or the garda confidential line 1800-666111.
