LIMERICK fire crews have tackled an incident that saw a Supermac’s drive-thru sign catch fire.

The sign at the Ennis Road Supermac’s caught fire and Limerick Fire Service was notified at around 4.30pm this Saturday.

One unit from Limerick and one from Shannon were sent to deal with the incident, but the city fire crew tackled it and stood-down the Shannon unit.

Eyewitnesses tweeted pictures of the minor incident at the well-known city branch of the fast food chain.

The fire crew then headed from the Ennis Road to the M7 motorway to aid in the clean-up after a collision at the Ballysimon Road-Rosbrien interchange.
