Infection control procedures are in place at UHL following outbreak of Norovirus
THE Health Service Executive (HSE) has confirmed that visiting restrictions remain in place at University Hospital Limerick following an outbreak of Norovirus (the Winter vomiting bug).
A total ban on visitors to Unit 5B has been extended by a further 24 hours with a review set to take place on Sunday evening.
”In the interests of patient safety and in line with infection control procedures, there will be no visitors allowed on the Unit for a 24 hour period,” said a HSE spokesperson late on Saturday.

The HSE says all infection control measures are in place and the outbreak is being managed.
“The HSE regrets this inconvenience but would like to thank patients and the public for their cooperation,” added the spokesperson.
