A CAR was flipped onto its roof following a multiple-vehicle collision in County Limerick on Monday night.

It occurred in the middle of Abbeyfeale with one person taken to hospital by ambulance.

It is understood the driver of the car, which ended up on its roof, swerved to avoid another vehicle, collided with two parked cars and then overturned.

Gardai, firefighters from Abbeyfeale Fire Station and paramedics with the National Ambulance Service all attended the scene.

Following a media query from Limerick Live, a garda spokesperson confirmed gardaí attended the scene of a road traffic collision on Bridge Street, Abbeyfeale on Monday, February 16 at approximately 7pm.

“One person was injured and taken to Tralee University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigations are ongoing,” said a garda spokesperson.

A number of videos of the aftermath of the incident have been widely shared on social media.
