A FORMER Limerick County Council executive has been appointed to a high-profile Government role related to Adare Manor's hosting of the Ryder Cup 2027.
As revealed by Limerick Live, the Department of Tourist, Culture, Arts, the Gaeltacht, Sports and Media opened a search for a project director.
Their job would be to include leading engagement with Limerick City and County Council at both political and administrative levels.

On top of this, they are expected to build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders such as management at Adare Manor, Ryder Cup Europe, plus key governmental departments and agencies.
And it appears they have found their man in the shape of Tom Enright, who was the director of economic development at Limerick County Council up to 2014.
Following this, he moved to the south-east to become the chief executive of Wexford County Council.

The Dungarvan native stepped away from this position at the start of this year following the expiry of his contract.
At the time, he said he felt that the time is right for a change and that a lot of the things he had hoped to achieve in the role had either been delivered, or were on the path to being delivered.
He will work alongside Limerick TD Patrick O'Donovan, Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media of Ireland.
Minister O’Donovan, has expressed his delight that the Department has appointed Mr Enright.
“Tom is a dedicated public servant with significant experience in complex project management and delivery. He will be a great leader for Limerick as we strive to deliver a world-class golf experience in Adare in 2027. We are lucky to have someone of his calibre in the driving seat now, who will work across all aspects of the project to ensure we host an event to be proud of for years to come”, said Minister O’Donovan.
