Minister of State Kieran O’Donnell and Senator Maria Byrne
FINE Gael has selected sitting TD Kieran O’Donnell and Senator Maria Byrne to run in Limerick City at the next general election.
At a selection convention in the Castletroy Park Hotel this week, members picked the two politicians who also formed the party ticket back in 2020.
Back then, Ms Byrne survived seven counts before her transfer got Mr O’Donnell across the line.

Party members in Limerick County are expected to choose their candidates shortly, with Minister Patrick O’Donovan expected to be joined by newly elected councillor Noreen Stokes.
Mr O'Donnell said: “I am seeking re-election to Dail Eireann because I want to build on the progress of the past four years and work for more and improved services.”
Senator Byrne added: “Through my time as a Senator, I have had the privilege of working hand-in-hand with the people, businesses, and community organisations that make our city and the wider Mid-West region thrive.”
