Newcastle West Court
WHILE courthouses, particularly district courts can be very interesting, the drama spilled out onto the streets in Newcastle West.
A number of parties who were due to have matters heard in the district court were chatting and causing a disturbance in the court room.
Within moments, shouting could be heard outside the courthouse as matters escalated.
Gardaí, who were inside the court, reacted quickly to diffuse the situation. They spoke to the various parties outside the court and calmed people down.
Judge Nicola Jane Andrews rose from her bench while the situation was ongoing and returned when order was restored.
