A Limerick to Kilkee charity cycle will be taking place once again this September.
On Saturday, September 7, cyclists will take to the roads and head for the Clare coast.
However, like last year, their route isn't directly to Kilkee from Limerick but rather a scenic route, which involves them getting a ferry across to Clare!
The popular event is a staple of the calendar for many and this year, the chosen charities are Cliona's Foundation and the Limerick Lourdes Invalid Fund.
Registration will take place on the day at the Clayton Hotel in Steamboat Quay in Limerick city, from 8:30am to 9:30am on September 7.
Cyclists will meet at Clayton Hotel Steamboat Quay, departing at 9:30am.
Route:
Clayton Hotel onto Dock Road N69 – Mungret Village - Clarina – Kildimo – Askeaton
Foynes (stop for refreshments)
Glin – Tarbert - Ferry Crossing to Kilimer (between 1pm / 1.30pm)
Kilimer - Kilrush – Moyasta - Lisdeen (group stop at Keanes)
Lisdeen - Kilkee - Murphys Bar, The Square Kilkee for BBQ

There will four support vehicles, including a paramedic team and a bike mechanic. An emergency support contact card will be issued upon registration.
When returning home, a bus will leave Kilkee at 10pm on Saturday and drop off in Limerick's O'Connell street, outside Brown Thomas.
Additionally, a second bus will leave Kilkee the next day, Sunday, September 8 at 11.30am for those staying overnight.
The option for cyclists to put their bikes into the support van, returning to Limerick on Saturday evening directly after the cycle, is open. Cyclists must confirm if you are returning bike the on registration form.
Bikes can be collected from Monday, September 9, between 6.30pm and 7.30pm at St Joseph’s Scout Hall Reeves Path (near Pery Square / Peoples Park).
Sponsorship money can be returned prior to September 7 to Fergal Deegan. It can also be returned on the day of cycle during registration.
